ACADEMIC PROGRAMS AT J SCHOOL
Courses and programs are offered year-round at FUA's J SCHOOL. Academics are available for diverse student bodies as described by the program options below. Please note for university students: In the case of students from affiliated institutions may receive credit from their home universities or non-affiliated students can obtain transcripts from the University of South Florida, FUA's University of Record in the United States.
For-credit courses for study abroad are an opportunity for university students to internationalize their academic careers through regular sessions at FUA campuses in the Florence city center.
1-Year Career Program in Publishing
This 1-year, intensive program is open to students who wish to receive immediate training for future careers in publishing upon high school graduation as well as continuing education students who are considering a career change. The program is structured in 2 levels (Fall-Spring) lasting approximately 10 to 11 weeks long, each offering 5 core courses and program options to add on such as Italian language, internships, and short seminars on specialized topics. Publishing career student have the opportunity of adding not only single seminars but concentration, which are packages of pre-selected seminars available in the areas of food, fashion or art.
4-Year Curriculum in Communication and Interactive Digital Media
The 4-year program of study combines the interdisciplinary forces of J SCHOOL and DIVA Digital Imaging and Visual Arts at FUA. Students complete the General Education requirements before continuing with the Communication and Digital Media Core Curriculum and the major requirements for the three possible major choices of Publishing, Digital Media and Visual Communication.
Professional Studies - Experiential Learning & Internships
FUA's School of Professional Studies offers for-credit and non-credit experiences in the areas of internships, volunteer work and service learning. Placements can be located at J SCHOOL and the FUA university press, Ingorda for Florence Campus Publishing. Further information may be consulted at the related area on the FUA website.
